This weekend’s class was a blast! Of course when you’re studying the wines of Napa Valley, it’s hard to go wrong. We started in Carneros, the southern and most coolest part of the valley, and worked our way up through the heart of Napa (Rutherford, Oakville) and ended up in Zinfandel country (Calistoga), a bare 30 miles further north, but as much as 20 degrees warmer in growing conditions. Along the way we dabbled into Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, and the iconic Cabernet Sauvignon. The class size made for tons of great questions, and lots of fun for all. I look forward to Spring and trips to Sauk County and Michigan. Hopefully you all can join us!
