Another really fun class with a great mix of students. We had six seniors form UW and four people who are about to make a bike trip to Spain. It made for great conversation with everyone adding something.

We studied the crisp clean Albarino from “green” Spain, the fuller, richer Verdejo from Rueda, a Monastrell from Jumilla, a Ribera del Deuro, and of course, a Rioja Reserva. The surprise of the night was how much everyone enjoyed the Pedro Ximendez sherry we ended with. Although we barely touched the surface everyone was surprised at the range of fine and affordable wines available from Spain. Now we all want to go on that bike trip!
